TECO Partners with Leading Semiconductor Company to Advance Large-Scale Renewable Energy Supply

2026/08/06

TECO Electric & Machinery Co., Ltd. (TWSE: 1504) announced the signing of a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) with a leading semiconductor company, marking a significant milestone in TECO's expansion into the renewable energy trading market.

Structured as a long-term renewable energy supply agreement, the project is expected to deliver more than 30 MW of renewable energy capacity and over 300 million kWh of green electricity, making it one of the larger corporate renewable energy procurement projects in Taiwan. TECO stated that the agreement represents a highly significant milestone and demonstrates the successful implementation of the company's strategy to become an integrated energy services provider.

Driven by the rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI) applications and high-performance computing (HPC), electricity demand from the high-tech sector continues to increase, creating strong demand for reliable, long-term, and large-scale renewable energy supply. TECO expects power delivery under the agreement to commence by the end of 2026, with supply ramping up progressively. The project is anticipated to generate stable, recurring revenue and predictable cash flows from electricity sales over the medium to long term.

TECO noted that the project will aggregate renewable electricity from multiple power generation sites and deliver it through a diversified supply portfolio. This approach enhances supply reliability while providing greater operational flexibility, helping meet the stringent requirements of large industrial customers for diversified renewable energy sources and dependable power supply.

The CPPA customer is also a key participant in the global semiconductor supply chain with rigorous standards for renewable energy adoption and energy management transparency. Beyond facilitating renewable electricity transactions, the project is expected to serve as a benchmark for other companies pursuing corporate decarbonization and renewable energy procurement.

TECO further revealed that it is currently in discussions with a number of semiconductor manufacturers and high-tech companies regarding additional renewable energy procurement agreements. With customer demand continuing to grow, the company expects its renewable electricity sales portfolio to expand, creating an important new driver for future business growth.

In recent years, TECO has been transforming itself from an equipment manufacturer into a comprehensive energy solutions provider. By integrating solar power, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and intelligent energy management systems, the company delivers end-to-end services covering engineering and construction, asset management, renewable energy procurement, energy optimization, and power dispatch.

Through both self-developed renewable energy assets and integrated power generation resources, TECO continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio to support future electricity sales growth while strengthening long-term business resilience.

Looking ahead, TECO plans to further develop Virtual Power Plant (VPP) capabilities and diversified electricity trading models, building a one-stop energy platform that integrates equipment, engineering services, asset management, and renewable electricity sales. Through these initiatives, the company aims to foster a more sustainable energy ecosystem while helping businesses accelerate their energy transition.
