TECO and ABB collaborate to jointly promote substations for wind farms in Taiwan

We are pleased to share that TECO and the internationally renowned multinational engineering company ABB have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on offshore substations for wind projects in Taiwan.

TECO will become the first local company in Taiwan to participate in the construction of offshore substations for wind projects. This includes providing GIS switchgear equipment, standby generators, and other related equipment. Additionally, there is potential for collaboration with ABB to provide "E-House" solutions (pre-installed electrical rooms) for offshore and onshore substations, enhancing the stability, safety, and reliability of renewable energy power systems.

With ABB's expertise in integrating electrical, control, telecommunications and digital solutions, combined with TECO's successful experience of approximately 2.5 GW in onshore substation projects, this collaboration will offer developers highly reliable and comprehensive solutions for offshore wind farms, and accelerating Taiwan's energy transition.
