TECO Launches AI Smart Energy Management Platform, Integrating Hardware and Software to Accelerate Net-Zero Transition

2026/03/17

At the 2026 Smart City Summit & Expo and Net-Zero City Expo, which opened today (March 17) in Taipei, TECO Electric & Machinery Company showcased its latest AI Smart Energy Management Platform, highlighting a shift from standalone energy-saving equipment toward integrated, AI-driven energy solutions.

TECO President Fei-Yuan Kao said the energy transition has moved beyond improving the efficiency of individual devices to holistic energy management across multiple systems and sites. By integrating AI energy-efficiency models with high-efficiency equipment, TECO’s platform enables enterprises to consolidate energy data, optimize dispatch, and enhance operational resilience—supporting faster progress toward net-zero goals.

At the exhibition, TECO demonstrated the platform across four key scenarios: industrial parks, transportation, commercial buildings, and healthcare facilities. The platform integrates power, HVAC, building systems, transportation infrastructure, and renewable energy, transforming traditional monitoring systems into an AI-enabled decision-making hub. With built-in AI agents, managers can interact through natural language to access real-time energy data, receive optimization recommendations, and conduct scenario simulations.

TECO also highlighted its integrated hardware–software solutions, including magnetic-bearing chillers, transformers, inverters, and TECO’s newly unveiled Taiwan-made Power Conversion System (PCS), reinforcing its capabilities in energy infrastructure and system integration.

Smart Industrial Parks

Through its subsidiary TECOM, TECO introduced an AI Energy Dispatch and Management System that integrates solar power, energy storage, and green electricity trading within a unified platform. Leveraging AI and digital twin technology, the system enables virtual testing of energy strategies before real-world implementation, improving accuracy and reducing risk. The platform has already been deployed in manufacturing and industrial facilities, helping companies lower electricity costs and reduce contracted capacity.

Smart Transportation

TECO integrates solar generation, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and EV charging infrastructure with an Energy Management System (EMS) and AI-powered dispatch to optimize charging schedules and peak-load management. Demonstration projects have been deployed at seven service areas along Taiwan’s National Freeway No. 1, improving charging station resilience and easing peak electricity demand.

Commercial Buildings

TECO’s HVAC Energy-Saving Performance Guarantee Consulting Service enables smart upgrades without replacing existing equipment. Using smart sensors and NB-IoT technology, the solution combines energy storage and time-of-use electricity strategies to optimize building energy consumption and reduce operating costs.

Healthcare Facilities

For hospitals with stringent reliability requirements, the platform integrates HVAC, medical gases, power systems, lighting, and elevators into a centralized EMS. AI-driven load control ensures stable 24-hour operation in critical areas while improving energy efficiency. TECO has also signed an MOU with the Buddhist Tzu Chi Medical Foundation to implement deep energy-saving initiatives in healthcare facilities.

With 70 years of electromechanical expertise, TECO is leveraging AI-driven analytics and integrated energy systems to transform energy management from data monitoring to intelligent decision-making. The company aims to support smart cities and industries worldwide in achieving sustainable and net-zero transitions.

TECO proposed “from data empowerment to intelligent decision-making,” demonstrating its capability in integrating hardware and software.
