Granted golden aware for the traditional manufacturing industry, "Taiwan Top 50 Corporate Sustainability Report," for the third year in a row

2016/11/25

TECO Electric & Machinery has been honored by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE) in the 2016 TCSA Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards, receiving the Gold Award in the “Top 50 Corporate Sustainability Reports – Traditional Manufacturing” category. This marks TECO’s third consecutive year earning this distinction, affirming long-standing efforts to enhance operational performance, fulfill corporate social responsibility (CSR), and advance the vision of sustainable operations.

Celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, TECO has set strategic goals of “Energy Saving, Emissions Reduction, Intelligence, and Automation,” integrating green technologies with its strong mechatronic core to actively expand into the smart green-energy sector. The company aims to help mitigate energy depletion and climate change while building environmental and corporate sustainability.

TECO has long tracked social, economic, and environmental trends and acted as a responsible corporate citizen under the vision “TECO GO ECO,” dedicating itself to green-product development. The company led the industry in launching IE4 ultra-high-efficiency motors, became Taiwan’s first manufacturer of EV traction motors, and helped position Taiwan as the eighth country worldwide capable of producing large wind turbines. In consumer products, TECO has also led domestic brands by introducing eco-friendly, energy-saving smart air conditioners. Beyond this, TECO integrates group-wide technologies to deliver convenient, intelligent, and efficient green solutions. With green capabilities as its foundation, TECO strives for sustainable corporate growth and to advance toward world-class CSR performance.

CSR has become a global management trend and a powerful tool for assessing corporate health. Its breadth and depth mirror the path TECO has followed for six decades. Deep cultivation in technology, rigorous management, and care for society and the environment have been key to TECO’s resilience and status as a sustainable enterprise. Looking ahead to the next 60 years, TECO will continue to uphold its sustainability vision—deepening R&D, using smart technologies to open a new era in green energy, and embracing social issues, environmental protection, and public-interest initiatives as core corporate missions—to implement CSR and create win-win-win outcomes for customers, the company, and the environment.
