TECO's "Green Brain Creative Competition" Awards Ceremony Cultivates a New Generation of Sustainability and Energy Efficiency
TECO hosted the grand awards ceremony for the
third annual Green Brain Creative Competition at the
Nangang Software Park Conference Center. Dedicated to becoming " the key
driver in realizing global electrification, intelligence, and green
energy.", TECO continues to innovate toward a sustainable, net-zero
future. Through this science-focused creative competition, TECO aims to instill
energy-saving concepts in young minds, inspiring creative thinking and an
experimental spirit among Taiwan's next generation.To further this mission,
TECO provides scholarships to the winning student teams and, for the first time
this year, offers cash awards to their guiding teachers as a token of
appreciation for their mentorship and support. Additionally, energy-efficient
home appliances were donated to schools to honor their commitment to promoting
energy science education. TECO hopes to encourage more educational institutions
to nurture the sustainable creativity of future generations, working together
toward a better planet.
Showcasing the Power of a New Sustainable Generation: A Brilliant Fusion of
Creativity and Energy Efficiency
During the ceremony, Kao Fei-yuan, President of TECO’s Green Mechatronic
Solution Business Group, presented awards to the top three teams in both the
middle school and elementary school categories. He praised the students’
ingenuity and awareness of energy conservation:“From waste-heat power
generation in incinerators to jump rope-powered electricity and innovations
like water plant energy and recycled condensate water, the students have
demonstrated remarkable sustainability-focused thinking. Our heartfelt thanks
also go to the schools and teachers for their unwavering support, which has
added tremendous value to the competition.”TECO expressed gratitude by donating
energy-efficient appliances to participating schools, encouraging more students
to engage in creative experimentation. To provide participants with further
growth opportunities, a feedback session was held after the ceremony, allowing
students to interact with the judges. The judging panel, which included senior
R&D experts from TECO, experienced educator Mr. Tian Yuan, Principal Qu
Deyuan, and Professor Deng Dunping from National Taiwan Normal University,
offered professional insights to help students refine their projects. This
session also highlighted how businesses use technology to solve real-world
challenges.
Advancing SDG Goal 4: Quality Education, with Enthusiastic Participation Across
Taiwan
The third Green Brain Creative Competition attracted widespread
participation from students across Taiwan’s elementary and middle schools.
After multiple rounds of evaluation, the top three middle school teams were: Lift
a Liz, Dream Practitioners, and No Name, all from Luodong
Junior High School in Yilan County. The top three elementary school teams were:Golden Helpers from Chenggong Elementary School in Yilan County, Water
Plant Power from Dazhong Elementary School in Taoyuan City, and Dancing
Water Campus from Jiande Elementary School in Keelung City.By hosting this
competition, TECO embodies its commitment to the United Nations’ Sustainable
Development Goal 4 for quality education. Not only does the event unleash
students’ creative potential, but it also underscores TECO's social
responsibility to promote sustainable education. TECO remains dedicated to
advancing sustainability and education in parallel, building a brighter future
for our planet.
