TAIPEI, (the 6th) — TECO Home Appliances today unveiled its 2017 lineup, featuring a full range of CSPF Grade-1 inverter residential air conditioners, a 480L glass-finish bottom-freezer inverter refrigerator, new front-load washers, inverter top-load washers
with smart touch panels, 4K UHD Smart connected LCD TVs in multiple sizes, and an Energy Management System (EMS), among other products. Under the banner “Cloud Technology for All,” TECO is expanding cloud management from home AC and appliances into commercial
venues, schools, and institutions, so everyone enjoys comfortable environments—while saving on energy bills.
TECO Air Conditioners Fully Upgraded to CSPF Grade-1
As Taiwan’s No. 1 domestic home-appliance brand, TECO’s four pillar categories—refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, and LCD TVs—lead the local market with complete product lines. Air conditioners have long been the brand’s growth driver.
With the new efficiency standards taking effect in January, TECO’s portfolio planning is ready: from premium heating–cooling models to standard cooling-only models, all inverter units meet CSPF Grade-1.
In 2017, aside from a few special channels that still require fixed-speed units, sales will shift predominantly to CSPF inverter models, targeting a 70% mix (the balance being window-type units). Market share is aimed to rise from ~9% to ~11%, maintaining
TECO’s position as Taiwan’s top domestic brand.
2017 New Products—Built for Taiwanese Homes
Highlights include the glass-finish bottom-freezer 480L inverter refrigerator, new front-load washers, inverter top-load washers with full touch panels, and 4K UHD Smart connected LCD TVs in various sizes.
For example, in the mainstream large inverter refrigerator segment, all models are designed and manufactured in Taiwan. Pre-development consumer research showed that while local households prefer high capacity, many kitchens can’t accommodate extra-wide
units. TECO’s tall-slim large-capacity design solves this for compact to mid-size homes.
Leveraging core technology advantages, TECO’s inverter washing machines get another upgrade this year, introducing a premium full-touch control top-load design—minimalist aesthetics that blend into the home like modern decor. The new front-load line adds
automatic detergent dosing: the washer senses the load and dispenses the right amount each cycle—smart and eco-friendly, and one of the most promising introductions of 2017.
For LCD TVs in 2017, TECO focuses on picture and sound excellence—native 4K and Full-HD images paired with DTS surround, full-range speaker acoustics, and wide color gamut technology—so consumers can enjoy premium AV experiences at home. TECO’s TV specifications
will rank among the best of domestic peers.
Smart appliances are rapidly becoming part of daily life. In 2014, TECO was the first home-appliance brand to champion “Cloud Technology for All.” After three years of sustained R&D, TECO has extended inverter technology into the commercial market, spanning
2.2 kW to 4,300 kW (≈120 tons)—from residential to central commercial HVAC, inverterization across the full portfolio.
“Cloud Technology for All”
TECO is committed to cloud applications, integrating IT, communications, and inverter technologies into appliances. Using a single platform or app, users can effectively track electricity costs, set contracted demand capacity, and implement demand management.
TECO’s Energy Management System (EMS) is now promoted for commercial sites and schools, serving as a best-in-class partner for energy saving and emissions reduction, while delivering high-quality living and learning environments for all.
