Lien Chao-chih Appointed as Acting President of TECO
Taipei (April 25, 2018)--Sophia Chiu, chairperson of TECO Electric & Machinery, has relinquished her concurrent position as the company's president, passing the duty to Lien Chao-chih, vice president, who will serve as the acting president, effective on April 25 immediately, according a key message publicized by the company.
The reshuffle has been made, three years after Chiu took over the helm of the company in 2015, having vigorously pushed and realized the management concept of "adherence to integrity-oriented management, materialization of corporate governance, fulfillment of social responsibilities, and quest for sustainable development," a feat which has won the company the honor of top 5% in corporate governance evaluation for three years running. The appointment of Lien Chao-chih underscores the company's resolve in institutionalizing corporate governance.
Lien, who joined TECO in 2001, now heads the company's Electrification Products Sales Group, with the scope of his responsibility covering not only Taiwan but also Europe and North America. Previously, he had experienced other key positions at the company, including chief of Heavy-Electricity Business Division and Information Technology Business Group, as well as CEO of the group's new business center since 2007, in charge of the company's deployment in new-energy businesses. Lien owns a master degree in civil engineering from Steven Institute of Technology of the U.S. and a U.S. civil engineering license.
