TECO Builds "1+N Carbon Management Exemplary Team" With YunTech and TRI
TECO
Electric & Machine has joined hands with Yunlin Tech U. and Taiwan Research
Institute, building up a "1+N" Carbon Management Exemplary
Team," holding meetings and greenhouse inventory workshops, for which 11
representatives from supply-chain partners and affiliates have been invited for
participation. Lin Hung-hsiang, executive chief officer of TECO's ESG promotion
office, pointed out that via the "net zero transformation action plan,"
TECO aims to reduce 1,500 tons of CO2ethis year and push 11 supply-chain partners and affiliates
carrying out their product's greenhouse-gas inventory carbon-footprint
inventory, thereby establishing the group's carbon-emission platform database,
in order to attain net-zero emission for the group by 2050.
Lin Yu-cheng, director of Yunlin Tech U.'s
sustainability and value management center, also notes that with the assistance
of professional management team the university will introduce ISO 14064 and ISO
14067, exploring carbon-abatement hotspots and formulate low-carbon
transformation method, thereby helping TECO and 11 supply-chain partners in
their carbon abatement.
Due to limited resources and insufficient ability,
majority of Taiwan's small and medium-sized small and medium-sized enterprises have
been slow in pushing net-zero emission. Su Han-bang, vice president of Taiwan
Research Institute, expressed gratitude for TECO inviting 11-supply chain
partners to take part in the 1+NT carbon management team and join the effort
pushing carbon management solution, thereby exhibiting their resolve in carbon
abatement.
