TECO Holds the 4th“Green Brain Creative Competition” Awards Ceremony - Fostering a New Generation for Sustainability Through Science Education
TECO Electric & Machinery Co. (1504) hosted
the awards ceremony for the 4th “Green Brain Creative Competition” on the 6th
at the Nangang Software Park Conference Center. The event once again received
strong participation from elementary and junior high schools across Taiwan.
After three rounds of evaluation, the winning teams in the junior high school division
included Yilan’s Luodong Junior High School’s “Win Together”, Yunlin’s Chongder
Junior High School’s “Descendants of the Sun”, as well as Yilan’s Luodong
Junior High School’s “Follow the Sun to Generate Power” and “Water
Boys”.
In the elementary school division, the top three
awards went to Yilan’s Cheng-Gong Elementary School for “Golden Helpers”,
Kaohsiung’s Shoushan Elementary School for “Green Thermal Innovators”,
and Taipei’s Bihu Elementary School for the “Glory Wing”. This year’s
submissions displayed diverse creativity, junior high teams focused primarily
on energy generation and conversion, while elementary school teams emphasized
energy-saving solutions for daily life. The projects demonstrated students’ observation,
creativity, and practical skills related to sustainability—echoing TECO’s
commitment to net-zero transformation and long-term sustainability education.
Students Use Creativity to Imagine a Greener
Future
During the event, TECO’s Chief Technology
Officer Da-Jeng Yao presented awards and highlighted the impressive range of
projects—from exercise-powered generators to thermoelectric innovations and
smart home energy-saving designs. He emphasized that understanding energy and
caring about the environment should start young. With the right guidance,
students can develop the curiosity, sensitivity, and scientific literacy needed
to build a more sustainable future.
To broaden the learning experience, TECO
organized a post-ceremony exchange session, bringing students face-to-face with
professional judges, including TECO’s senior R&D experts and academics from
National Taiwan Normal University. Together, they discussed how creative ideas
can be refined into workable solutions and how technology plays a key role in overcoming
energy and net-zero challenges.
Taking Action to Strengthen Sustainability
Education Nationwide

intelligent technologies, and green energy, and seeks to inspire younger
generations to engage with energy, environmental, and sustainability issues
through science education. The company will continue advancing sustainability
education through real action, supporting SDG 4 “Quality Education” by
encouraging students to respond creatively to sustainability challenges and
develop scientific imagination and problem-solving skills.
In addition to awarding scholarships to winning
students, TECO also expressed gratitude to the participating teachers and
donated energy-saving home appliances to schools actively promoting science and
sustainability education, encouraging more educational institutions to join the
mission of cultivating future sustainability talent.
