Kwan-In Manufacturing Site
With the high density of airliner departures and landings,
C. K. S. Airport has become Taiwan's principle gateway
to the international stage. As the main production base
of TECO's home appliances and air conditioners, the Kwan-In
Manufacturing Site is located in a place which is not
only convenient to this communications hub, but also enjoys
a comfortable climate.
The Kwan-In manufacturing site is a highly efficient modern
production base consisting of a RAC
factory, PRW factory,
and CTV factory.
All of the goods produced supply the domestic and overseas
markets using either TECO brand or other authorized brand
names. Under the CIM framework, the factories themselves
operate in cooperation with the advanced CAD/CAM system,
the AS/RS automatic storage system, the POP Point of Production
system and various other high level automated production
equipment. From receiving an order, to design, purchasing,
material management, transport, processing, assembly and
packaging through to storage operations, it uses a more
efficient work pattern, through the computer network,
and strictly controls the quality of every operation.
And with the TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) system,
as well as obtaining international ISO-9001 certificates,it
has also won the National Quality Award. Besides this,
the Kwan-In manufacturing site also pays considerable
attention to the issue of environmental protection.
Aspects ranging from manufacturing, equipment, and materials
to the actual products are all required to match international
environmental standards, with the result that as well
as receiving international ISO-14000 certification, it
has also obtained national approval for its environmental
protection policies.
RAC factory
TECO's RAC factory is the largest air-conditioner factory
in Taiwan. It focuses, in particular, on producing full
range of room air-conditioners, such as window-type, split-type,
and vertical-type units, as well as dehumidifiers.Annual
production stands at 600,000 units. Manufacturing from
sheet metal processing and Electro-coating of the base
and casing, fin- press, U- bend, welding and leak detecting
of the heat exchanger, assembly and burn- in of the PCB,to
assembly and refrigerant charging of the unit, is all
completed, step by step, through high level automation
and an automatic inspection process. Finally, after 9
stages of strict quality inspections, such as high and
low pressure leakage detection, an insulation endurance
test, a noise vibration inspection, a computer functions
test, and performance test etc., it is packaged automatically
and sent to the finished products storage facility. Furthermore,
the parent factory in Taiwan has provided the branch factory
in Indonesia with specialized management, and automated
equipment, for extending the overseas production bases,
in order to strengthen TECO's international competitiveness.
PRW factory
TECO's PRW factory is the most modern factory combining
all of the most outstanding features in all of TECO's
factories under one roof. It focuses on producing large-scale
air-conditioning equipment, refrigerators, washing machines
and other household appliances. The manufacturing process
is completed step-by-step with a high level of automated
equipment and under strict inspections, just like the
RAC factory mentioned above. The NPS New Production System,
which uses rapid mold-change, kiting system and multi-machine
mixed production technology, is one of the special features
it feels particularly proud of. Furthermore, the factory
uses PCM Pre-Coated Material instead of coating equipment,
and evaporable oil toavoid using CFCs to clean the heat
exchanger.It also uses HCFC refrigerant and foam rise
equipment. These are all well-advanced environmental protection
measures, which cut down on pollution and meet international
standards.
CTV factory
The CTV factory is the heart of design
and production for TECO's consumer electronic products.
Production is focused on color televisions, ranging from
14 inch to 34 inch televisions. Annual production can
reach 300,000 sets. With over 20 years of electronic production
experience, the factory has already established a highly
efficient, highly elastic production operation system.
This ranges from assembly of the CRT, to adjustment, inspection
of the unit, in coordination with strict product control.
The result is the creation of a top quality product, which
already stands in the top 3 of the Taiwan TV market ratings,
and in recent years has moved aggressively into creating
a market for itself in the overseas markets.
