 Zuo-Ying Base is located on the south end of the High Speed Rail line, and is the border of Kaohsiung County and Kaohsiung City. The base occupies an area of 38 hectares, from Shui-Guang Road in the north, extending to Chong-De Road in the south, and is close to Tai-1 provincial route in the east and close to Taiwan Railway Administration railway in the west.
The construction includes 31 buildings, including administration building, maintenance factory, wheel-cutting factory, signals and telecommunication facility control room, machinery and electricity equipment factory, etc. Furthermore, there are also several kinds of equipments (facility): such as, oil tank, gasoline station, automobile-washing factory, way dregs storage area, way dregs loading machine shelter, water discharge channel, wasted water pipe line and scenic spots facility, etc.
Except there are 4 buildings were constructed in RC, others were all reinforced structure. Total ferroconcrete weights about 7000 tons.
In the RC buildings, the administration building is the main one. It is a 4-floor building with 95x45mm ceramic brick exterior decoration. The entrance of the hall is decorated with aluminum curtain wall. In the steel structure factory, the exterior wall uses inlay plywood and its roof is made of colored aluminum and zinc steel plates.
After the completion of the construction, Zuo-Yin Base will be functioned to offer train parking place, daily check, monthly check, temporary check, wheel group machine cutting, train washing and railway rail equipment maintenance, etc. It will make the high-speed railway system safer, more reliable, more comfortable and more convenient.
